I worked as part of a team: InSite Architects. The project we were involved in was at Brockholes Nature Reserve in Preston. The client had asked us to create a sustainable Water Sports Centre to be used by people in Lancashire for leisure and educational purposes. The facility allows rental and training on canoes and kayaks in a green natural atmosphere, an ethos of the Brockholes group. The project commenced in October 2013 and competed in Spring 2014.
I volunteered at Soundskills Community Centre. The project I got involved in focuses around the Brookfield area in Preston, and opening up the community to a new garden and play area, regenerating a forgotten space between a residential block. I worked closely with the local people of Brookfield and children of the local school to commence the creation of a suitable, sustainable and interesting design strategy.
